Why Choose a Home Visit?

A clinic can only tell us so much. At home, we see the real obstacles — the stairs you climb, the chair you rise from, the bathroom you navigate at night — and build your recovery around them.

It’s the most practical setting to rebuild strength, steadiness and confidence, and for many patients it removes the biggest barrier to getting treatment at all: the journey there and back.

Home visits are often the right choice if you are:

  • Recently discharged from hospital and not yet safe or comfortable travelling
  • Living with pain, weakness or fatigue that makes leaving the house hard work
  • Worried about falls, or have already had one
  • Rebuilding after a stroke or managing a long-term neurological condition
  • Caring for a relative who would do far better being seen at home

Our Areas of Expertise

Every visit begins with a careful assessment, and everything that follows is shaped around your goals and your home.

Post-Operative Rehabilitation

The weeks after surgery are where recovery is won or lost. We guide both musculoskeletal and neurological post-operative rehabilitation stage by stage — restoring function safely and keeping your surgical or medical team in the loop where it helps.

Hip & Knee Replacement Recovery

Progress often stalls once you’re home from a joint replacement. Our recovery plans rebuild the muscles around the new joint, restore range of movement, and get you back on your feet and walking independently — always in step with your surgeon’s protocol.

Falls Prevention & Balance Training

Most falls can be avoided. We pair structured balance training with a practical look at your home to spot and reduce risks, so you stay steady and self-assured moving around your own space.

Elderly Physiotherapy

A calm, tailored approach to strength, flexibility and joint health that helps older adults hold on to their independence and stay active for longer.

Neurological Rehabilitation

For stroke, Parkinson’s, MS and other neurological conditions, we help retrain movement, sharpen coordination and control, and adapt daily tasks — right where you carry them out.

Walking Assessment & Mobility Training

A thorough walking assessment pinpoints exactly what’s holding your movement back. From there, mobility training helps you move more freely and safely, including choosing and progressing the right walking aids.

Exercise Prescription

Consistent, well-matched exercise is what drives lasting recovery. You’ll get a clear exercise prescription designed for your ability and your home, progressed as you get stronger.

Manual Therapy

When it’s the right fit, hands-on manual therapy — joint mobilisation and soft tissue work — eases pain and stiffness and restores movement alongside your exercises.

How It Works

  1. Assessment — Your first appointment is a full assessment: your history, your goals, and a hands-on look at how you’re moving.
  2. Plan — We explain what’s going on and agree a plan together, then begin treatment the same day.
  3. Progress — You’ll leave the session with a written home exercise programme, and we’ll review your progress at each visit — coordinating with your GP, consultant or family carers whenever that supports your recovery.

Common Questions

Do I need a referral to book?

No — you can arrange a home visit with us directly. If you have private insurance or an existing NHS care plan, we’ll happily work alongside it.

How long will the appointment take?

Your first assessment runs longer than later sessions so we can be thorough. We’ll confirm exact timings when you book.

Can you see two people in the same house?

Yes, and it’s often a convenient, good-value option for couples or family members living together.

Is there anything I should prepare?

Just comfortable clothing you can move in, any discharge notes or medical letters, and a bit of clear floor space. We bring everything else.
